Discover the Art of Face Painting
IF YOU’RE just starting out in the wonderful and colourful world of face painting, you’ll probably have lots of questions. You may be wondering where to find professional training, tips and advice on paints, brushes and set-ups. Perhaps you’ve already been painting for a while, but you’re looking for fresh ideas and a convenient way to brush up on your face painting skills.
It doesn’t matter how big or small your ambitions are, there’s a lot to learn if you want to practice face painting safely and offer a great experience for children and their parents alike. It can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t need to be.
I’m developing a range of face painting classes which you can access through the school, in the comfort of your own home. You can jump in and out anytime you like and watch one of my growing library of free video tutorials. Alternatively you can join the face painting school at one of our workshops or classes as we tour around Australia, where you’ll learn and practice new techniques under the guidance of skilled instructors and be inspired to challenge yourself with new designs.
Please take 30 seconds to register and you’ll be notified of new posts, video tutorials, and upcoming workshop tours. I invite you to follow me on Facebook and Twitter as well.
All the best,

Founder, The Australian Face Painting School
My name is Kate Matthews and I’m a face painter working in the beautiful region of Northern NSW, and the founder of The Australian Face Painting School. For me, face painting is about having fun and taking the time to make someone feel special. I never get tired of watching that wonderful moment when a child looks into my mirror and the light comes on in their eyes. It’s priceless.
In 2011 I established my business Fun2Play Party and Event Services, which has grown quickly to be the number one of it’s type in my region. I know when I started, I had loads of questions – and two years on I still enjoy learning from others and face painting has become something I find myself immersed in every day. The international face painting community is an amazing great group of people and I’ve been inspired by so many artists, I feel fortunate to have discovered this wonderful world of face painting.
