Discover the Art of Face Painting
UK artist Emma Allen has captured the world’s attention again this week transforming herself into the FIFA World Cup Trophy using face paint.
Allen’s self portrait instantly went viral, gaining over a half-million page views in the first few days.
The Independent described how Allen created the image, using a swimming cap to make her head smooth and painting the intricate detail on with different shades of gold.
Admitting she was not much of a football fan, Allen told The Independent she was drawn to the idea because the World Cup trophy is such an iconic symbol.
“I wanted to try and see if I could represent it in a face paint,” she said.
“It’s been interesting to see all the different interpretations of the picture.
“The hardest thing was getting my arms and hands in the right position. I took a lot of pictures before settling on the final one.”
On her website emmaallen.org she rejoices at all the attention:
